Project - Save Hispaniola

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

All Nations International has close working relationships with effective non-profit organizations that work with children and women all over the world.

The Dominican Republic is facing fundamental development challenges ranging from extreme poverty to deficiencies in the health sector. Weaknesses in government and social structures are an added problem. This vicious cycle and limited personal growth should be detained by improving education standards and the infrastructure of the health sector. All Nations International is partnering with Dove Missions and Integacion Juvenil in order to help break this cycle.

the future center that needs to be renovated

Integracion Juvenil has acquired an old Victorian style home that is in dire need of refurbishing. This will be a "Safe House" for children who live on the streets or work instead of going to school. We are in search of support to help in this renovation. Dove Missions will facilitate outreach from this building by:

  • Teach Reading, Math, and English to children who are unable to attend public school
  • "Safe House" to give the children a place to rest, seek help, and a opportunity to collect personal information to help get them enrolled in school
  • Provide a nutritious snack to children who are malnourished
  • Opportunity to counsel and give the children support
  • Opportunity to provide health education
  • A place where volunteers and children of different backgrounds will work together and develop friendships and understanding, which will lead to greater integration in future generations.

Many families in the Dominican Republic must deal with the dilemma to either feed their family or send their children to school. All children in the Dominican Republic must wear a uniform to be able to attend school. The cost is $40 per year which includes 2 shirts, bottoms, shoes, socks, and underwear. Many families can't afford to spend $40 a year to send their child to school. So, many children are left to live in the streets polishing shoes, wandering the streets, and trying to earn money for the family.

  • HOW CAN YOU HELP

    You can help by:

    • Making a donation to the building project
    • Sponsor a child, enable them to attend school, $40 per year

If you have any ideas or suggestions on how you can help these projects, please contact us. Any  help will be greatly appreciated.

Our next areas of focus will be on AIDS/HIV support,  vaccinations and antibiotics.

Our goal is to provide these services all over the Dominican Republic. Future projects will help address the issues of the western half of Hispaniola, the country of Haiti.

Thank You

We would like to give a special thanks to Matthew Kelsey and the members of Alpha Kappa Psi at Emory University. Their contribution is helping 6 children to attend school this year. Their contribution also helped to buy books, supplies, and recreational items for children who are unable to attend school.

We also would like to thank Cheree Moore who resides in Atlanta, Ga. Her contribution is helping 2 children with their wish to attend school.

All Nations International, our partners, and the families of the Dominican Republic appreciate your help.

Thank You
